The protection of your personal data is of particular concern to us. We therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of the legal provisions (GDPR, TKG 2003). In this data protection information we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing within our website and our services.
Contact us
If you contact us using the form on the website or by email, the data you provide will be stored by us for a year in order to process your request and in case of follow-up questions. In the case of a business relationship, the data will be stored for the duration of the legal or contractual retention obligations. We will not pass this data on to third parties without your consent.

Use of data in the course of our business transactions
We collect, process and use the following personal data in the course of initiating and conducting business for the purpose of pre-contractual preparation or contract fulfillment as well as to comply with legal obligations:
- Name, address, contact details (email address, telephone number), contact persons including contact details, company register, trade or association registration number
The data will be passed on to third parties required for business transactions (e.g. suppliers) to the extent necessary and to authorities within the scope of the legal obligation. If the business relationship is maintained, the data will be stored until the statutory retention period expires (e.g. 7 years in accordance with Section 132 BAO). If no business relationship is established, the data will be stored for one year in case of any queries.
Use of data in our event calendar
We collect, process and use the following personal data as part of our online event calendar as part of the fulfillment of the contract:
- Name, address, contact details (email address, telephone number), website address
The data is published in the event calendar on the website and stored for a maximum of 1 calendar year after the end of the event.
Use of data as part of our services as a processor
As part of our contractually agreed services with the respective organizer (“controller”), we collect, process and use the personal data listed below on the basis of the legal bases of contract fulfillment, legitimate interests and consent.
Online registration
Carrying out online registration for sporting events and publishing participant data
- Family and first name(s), date or year of birth, gender, nationality, contact details (email address, telephone number, address), license/registration number with sports associations (e.g. UCI ID, OELV number, license number), club affiliation, team name, registration -/Payment status, IP address, other voluntary information (e.g. personal achievements)
The data will be sent to the organizer (“responsible person”), to the payment service processor (Mollie B.V., Keizersgracht 126, 1015 CW Amsterdam, NL), to the responsible sports association (e.g. in the form of entry and start lists), to those required for business processing passed on to third parties (e.g. suppliers of personalized starting numbers) to the extent necessary.
In addition, the following data will be published in the registration list on the website until the end of the event:
- Family and first name(s), gender, nationality, license/registration number with sports associations (e.g. UCI ID, OELV number, license number), (age) category, club affiliation, team name, registration/payment status.
The registration data will be deleted from the web server no later than 1 month after the end of the event and stored as a file for a maximum of 3 years.
Payment processing of registration-/participation fees
The payment processing of the registration/participation fees is always carried out in the name and for the account of the respective organizer.
Depending on the desired payment method, the necessary personal data, including the information necessary to process the payment, will be transmitted to the payment service provider or to the credit institution responsible for the payment. The payment process itself is processed by the payment service provider, who acts independently as its own data protection controller. The data required for the payment process (credit card holder, number, expiry date and card validation code; bank account details) are processed by the respective payment service provider and, if necessary, also used to check the data provided to exclude misuse. We only store the payment method used during registration.

Timing Services
Carrying out electronic time recording at sporting events - the data is transferred from the online registration or is collected by the organizer (“responsible person”) and transmitted to sportzeitnehmung.at
- Participant data: Family and first name(s), date or year of birth, gender, nationality, contact details (email address, telephone number, address), license/registration number with sports associations (e.g. UCI ID, OELV number, license number), club affiliation, team name , placement, term(s), additional information (such as violations of regulations); When using a photo finish system: image recordings in the finish area (photo finish video with time stamp)
- Organizer data: name of the organizer, contact details (email address, telephone number, address, website address)
- People involved in the event: family and first name(s), function (e.g. race commissaire, finish judge), nationality, associated organisation, contact details (email address, telephone number), license/registration number with sports associations
The data will be passed on to the organizer (“responsible person”), to the responsible sports association, to third parties required for business transactions to the extent required as result lists (printout, PDF) and in structured electronic form.
In addition, the data is published as part of sports results management (see point below).
The timing data is retained for 10 years until the end of the calendar year of the event. The contact details will be deleted 3 years after the end of the calendar year of the event.
Sports results management
As part of the sports results management service, the registration data and results are published in the form of entry/start lists, result lists and in results databases and transmitted to the organizer and the respective sports association and stored permanently by them.
In order to be able to clearly assign a service, certain data must be published. There is a legitimate public interest, particularly in competitions that are organized or sponsored by funding recipients in accordance with Section 3 BSFG 2017 or in which they appoint technical officials (see Section 3 Z 4 BSFG 2017). The public interest also lies in the fact that these funding recipients receive public funds for organizing or sponsoring these competitions. Therefore, the publication of sports results is also permissible in the interests of the legitimate interest of those responsible (sports associations) and is exempt from requests for deletion and revocation.
Based on the consent of the data subject in accordance with Art data subject, insofar as these are necessary for performance/result recording or results management in connection with registration or participation in (sporting) events or competitions, and also in accordance with Article 17 Paragraph 3 stored and made publicly accessible in conjunction with Art. 89 GDPR for archiving purposes in the public interest and legitimate interests of the person responsible. This is expressly acknowledged by the person concerned.
Your rights
In principle, you have the rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation and objection. You can exercise these rights using the contact details provided below.
If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection rights have been violated in any other way, you can complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria this is the data protection authority ("Datenschutzbehörde").
